Had a little extra money today. So, I bought 9 rolls of half dollars, would've bought ten; but 9 was all they had. Small town bank ;D Startled the clerk when I asked for 10 rolls of the rascals.
No, I haven't had the time to take any pics. But, I found 3 1964 Kennedys and 7 extrememly nice early 70s that I won't have any problems selling this spring. My wife got all excited looking through them. May just go out later today and buy 10 more rolls and see what happens.

Geesh, I've got to do something to keep the winter blues at bay. More snow tonight. :laughing9:
But, the GOOD NEWS is that Sat's gonna be 38, Sunday mid 40's and on up. Dang maybe that mangy old ground hog was right- we'll see :laughing7:

Nice finds! Unfortunately that 1965, 1967, and 1968 are only silver clad, but still 40% silver is better than no silver! The 1970s+ aren't worth more than $0.50 unless they're completely scratch free and pass for MS-65 or better.

I bought $700 worth of hand rolled quarters the other day from the local bank, not a single silver coin in the lot. They never half halves!

Hey Greg,
So, is 1964 the cutoff date for silver on the Kennedys? But, you're right 40% is better than nothing. Man, from the sounds of your big time hunt, someone musta already been in those rolls. I've got to go back to the bank to return the 8 rolls. But, I think I'll keep the early 70s and sell them at the flea market, as they're in excellant shape.

Please, do not dump where you eat.

Rule #1 of hunting coin rolls is to NEVER return coins back to the bank where you bought them.

If you want to loose your source for new coins, and teach your tellers about finding silver, then go right ahead and return them to the buy bank.

1964 to 1970 kennedy halves are silver the 64 was from the prviouse weight of franklins which is .36169 ppure silver and 65' to 70'.1479 pure silver so the more 64's you find the better. I found a few silver coin roll hunting and once I found a mint fraklin It totally caught me off guard but loved it.. great finds also some71 D and 77D was struck in silver by accident so keep on the look outfor them also..
