I'm new to MDing but am going to beach on the 15th. Somewhere between Pawley Island, SC and Vero Beach FL, depends on weather where I stop. Just purchased an MXT PRO and would like any tips or advice you may offer.
Thanks

Also, thanks to bbcamay for technical direction.

Get a GOOD dry sand beach scoop, and have a ball!

jeff,

And don't forget the tinted glasses....wouldn't want you to get caught ogling... lol.

You may also wish to pick up a copy of Gary Drayton's latest book....I read it cover to cover....well worth the price.

ok some must be on after supper now. So like, what's best? closer to the water or drier sand? is it ok to detect over someone's beach towel?

That's a large stretch of land! Where are you traveling to?

You can hunt over someone's beach towel as long as they're on it. It is considered unethical to hunt over beach towels that are not occupied unless you have prior, written permission. :laughing7: But seriously, you just can't say that far ahead. Sand, weather, beach traffic, etc., you just never know what beach conditions are going to be like that far ahead of time.

hmmm, thought I was clear. to area from Pawley Island SC to Vero Beach FL. will decide on road depending on where it's warm enough for tshirt and shorts

Cool. If I detect a bellybutton ring can I take it?
