Hit the beach while the parking is free and the crowds and traffic are low. Found a sweet spot above the high tide line with some nice hits. While I found no jewelry, I dug a couple 1899 Barbers. Also, found a 1916 Mercury; wish it had a D mint mark. Rounding out the finds were the remains of a toy car, a 1945 wheat penny, and some broken flatware. Happy hunting!

Nice hunt. I especially like those Barbers! They are always a welcome find. That old race car is a neat one!
Congratulations

Sharp looking coins...! :icon_thumright:
I found a 1916 plain, too, but wasn't quite as beautiful as yours...!
Great looking relics, too!

Thanks for the comments. The coins have a dark grey color from the saltwater environment, but are in otherwise decent shape, especially for beach finds. The Mercury in particular does not look like it was in circulation long before getting lost. I might try lightening them up a bit with the foil, baking soda, and hot water trick, though I have not had much luck with that method thus far.
