beach pennies

Was wondering what do you do with zinc pennies found on the beach. I tumble them, but a lot of these are semi corroded. Will banks take these?

Clean them the best you can and then make a trip to your local coinstar.

At the end of the year, I buy junk silver with the coins that the beach goers so kindly leave for me.

I Just soak my coins the besgt I can then I roll them up and turn them in to the bank. Do the best you can and take them in....Matt

I take a set of pliers and clean them up on my wire wheel of my grinder. Then dump them into my spare change and spend them when pennies are needed. As long as they are shiny, cashiers don't take a second look.
