russy put these bead frames together
he is working on some bone bead frames also which i will post soon the red material is a soft easy to work stone called scoria
scoria is plentiful in western ND it is used to make make bricks and also used on country roads like gravel

You Sir are King!!!!! Do you head South much anymore with the climate being such? I would love to go dig and sift those middens. Be such a fun change of pace.
Great collection of beads and shell and effigy's. I enjoyed the last pictures you posted of stuff being wind blown on the surface.
Thanks for the show and feel free to tell us about some of the effigy items and types of stone/shell. Always enjoy the knowledge imparted.

My grandfather said ants like shiny things.He would screen the ant piles to find em. I haven't a clue to what they are,who made them or where they came from. He was a Colorado,new mexico,Utah,Wyoming kinda outdoorsman.DSC_0027.webp

That's an old trick, that still works wonders! I've found lots of beads in ant hills. I think they are small enough that ants can drag them up and push them out of their nest.
 

Joshua great collection glad this was brought back up . I have a bunch of Trade beads all personal finds from family land in N. California .
