Found in a NW Iowa Field? Is this a bearing block for a bow-drill fire starter set?

My vote is no but ???? I have made thousands of fires with a bow drill using everything from acorn caps to carved soapstone to natural rocks with dents as a bearing block. I could very well be wrong but the straight sides and flat bottom of the hole would present problems binding up your spindle. Move it to the North American Indian Relics forum and you will probably get more responses
