Howdy Folks. Hit up the spot I found my sash buckle to search for the other half. It was too frozen to dig. Trekked into the field for a bit easier digging. Got a few cool old relics. Star oil lamp adjustment wheel, UMC Co 10 gauge brass, metal arrow point, and my oldest US silver coin to date an 1849-O Seated Liberty Dime. The perfume compact was found yesterday in my hometown. Happy happy joy joy. I knew I'd get 1800's silver eventually from this permission. Yes I did beat the silver coin against my Predator shovel to get it out! Fortunately I did no damage. Might have to stop doing that. Thanks for stopping by. Kurios1

Love those New Orleans mint marks, very high on my bucket list, good job!

Love the seated, glad you didn’t damage it:occasion14: never give up on a place with history. I’ve been hitting some of the same sites for the past 4 years and they continue to surprise. That’s part of the fun8-):icon_thumleft::metaldetector:

Indeed my friend. The older and less likely to find the better. I also was fortunate enough to score a Carson City Seated Dime from my own yard. How those things had to travel back in the day makes them all the more special to find so far from their mint.

You said it. Research is great but, can only get you on top of known structures. Nobody knows what happened for certain in any given location in the middle of hundreds of acres of tilled earth. I'll never give up on this sight.

Way to chisel that one out with out hurting it!
It sure is a beauty!
I was digging a last weekend and was afraid to dig like that.
I guess ill be waiting a little longer :sadsmiley:

That's a very nice Dime & in Sweet Dug condition.

It would retail 'IMO' for $35 -$70 , but would be 'priceless' to me.
Congratulations
