I dug this beautiful shoe buckle recently and I wanted to have a better idea as to its age. The site seems to date from early to late 1800's. I'd really appreciate any help.

Thanks Erik, there were a lot of different buckles, this one being the nicest. There was also an 1800's button as well as a Pewter spoon and a Silver plated spoon I was able to ID from the first war. The land size is about 200 acres where a farm once stood in the 1800's. I went back last weekend but the ticks are so bad this year that I couldn't get more than 30ft without having one on my jeans. Granted they were falling off after a few seconds with the Permethrin I had on, I just couldn't enjoy being out there. I plan on going back as soon as they tone down a bit.

love those colonial buckles!!
