Hey folks. Been a while since I've been out for a hunt. Got out today for a couple hours into a field near some other fields I've hunted in the past. Never hunted this one though. was finding a few things here and there... a couple buttons, two toe taps, some miscellaneous junk.. and then I came across a signal that wasn't very good and wasn't really repeatable but for some reason I dug it anyway. (best number I could get out of it on my E-trac was 22-35). Dug the hole and popped out some dirt and the signal became much better, hitting at a consistent 11-32. Fished around in the dirt and pulled this out.

I could barely see the seated lady on the obverse. Since I didn't have any water I brought it home and soaked it and then rinsed it off. A nice 1858 Seated Liberty half dime

Also found the front of a two piece button that I thought might be military but turned out not to be. Just an interesting design.

Isn’t it nice when that little voice says “Dig this” and it turns out to be worth the effort!Such a nice seated dime! Congratulations..

That is a very cool coin!

Sweet half-dime, indeed! Great detail. Congrats. -Lisa & John

She's a beauty! Congrats!

What a beauty! Are those cracked die lines on the obverse?
I looked at it pretty closely. I'm pretty sure those are just old scratches. I suppose they could be die cracks.
