Hey guys, I've been living in the "stone age" this past week with no electricity, email or internet. As you probably know we here in Alabama got hammered by tornado's this past week which cut a path 1/2 mile wide through our city with about 4 downtown city blocks gone as in destroyed. The only thing to do will be to move the rubble and rebuild downtown. If that was not enough 85% of the 100 and 200 year old oak trees was up rooted and not the city is bald, it looks very strange, sort of surreal. Anyway, all is good here at the house, but there is plenty to do for the towns people, which my scout troop will be doing today. I'll try and post some pics later. but if your interested to see what and EF- 4 twister can do here is a video link.

Tim,

I am really glad to hear you and yours are doing ok.

I was in Miami when Hurricane Andrew hit, so I am definitely feeling your pain.

It won't be long before something like ice takes on the value of gold.

And after awhile, tempers may be a little short. That's normal. You are all under a lot of strain right now.

It's going to take a long time to rebuild. Just go in small steps. It will happen.

I will pray for you all.

Tim.. wow brother, what can I possibly say? I have people in Birmingham, Montgomery, Eufaula and Prattville. My heart was in my throat watching that video. I was huddled in the basement of my Grandparents home near Pensacola, Florida when I was Nine-years-old, as a tornado took a house three-doors down - away. Hundreds of thundering locomotives, the hooves of a thousand horses, God sucking the air out of your lungs, windows inploding, I will never forget it. I am a veteran. Been shot at, people have tried to stab me but, I was never as scared as I was in that basement on that horrific morning. My prayers are with your community - and you! - Terry

Wish you and your family the best and godspeed.

I lived in FL for 15yrs and seen a few monster hurricanes....but you can see a hurricane come at ya for almost a few days. Tornadoes come almost instantly..im guessing you need some luck to survive it also??

I was a scout myself...its an honor for what you do for your community. Keep your head up, spirit up. You are not alone. :hello2:

My God. I'm not religious but we'll pray for you and your towns folk. Place looked like a war zone. I can only imagine the shock afterwards.

I was a Scout for many years as well. Good for you guys! Get out there and help somebody.

I was in the scouts also and loved it. Hope everything works out for you there. Peace.
