Looks like a modern one. What does the bottom look like? What is the "pea" made of?

The one you have I believe is a modern "American" Sleigh bell...The one pictured here is commonly known as a crotal bell 15th to 17th century UK... my guess

All closed bells are technically a "crotal" bell. The bottom - the shape of the slots - will tell the tale - modern or not - jingle or not.

The pea is rusted and kinda pitted so I'm assuming iron. :dontknow:

Yes, good i.d. 4-H, a modern American Sleigh Bell. :icon_thumleft: A sleigh bell is a type of crotal, but a crotal is not always a sleigh bell. Good distinction also. :icon_thumright:
