Named for Belleville in Mifflin County, NW of Lewistown, this material can be found in abundance in the Beavertown-Troxelville-McClure areas of Snyder Co. in softball size cobbles. Points of this material are highly prized by local collectors because of its luster and translucency. Color ranges from deep black to light brown and has many inclusions and seams. All collections i've seen have a good representation of the material and my own collection having well over 100 pcs. Pictured are a few.

:icon_thumright: Cool looking material! Thanks for sharing!

Those light colored relics look very similar to Moss Agate!

That's beautiful stuff right there- and no wonder it was/is highly prized.

Great pics you can really zoom in and see its translucense. Is that a word? haha
