keep at it the ace is a good machine, i run mine cranked up and down one bar here's a hint say you got a penny signal and your swinging your coil over your target back and forth maybe 4-5 inches and get solid signal both ways that distance is how i swing the ace in trashy areas 4-5 inches back and forth,if i swing a full swing from right to left and get different signals the place is trashy and i slow way down and swing back and forth small swings 4-5 inches!!! copper wire will show penny, silver on mine shows dime unless it's quarter or bigger then it will dance between the two (silver quarter dances dime, quarter, dime, quarter) the ace will detect deeper than pin point if you have too have your coil on or close to the ground to get a signal when pin pointing but get a good signal swinging the coil over the target it's deep!!!! on deep targets after you pinpoint it the target seems to be just in front of center coil,if you get good signal but can't find it pinpointing dig it it's just too deep for pinpointing!!! I run mine all metal and listen for that sweet bell coin sound then you have to determine if it's worth digging that were all those other bell's and whistles come in. look too see if it's solid signal penny, penny ,dime ,dime, etc. if it dances dime iron, penny iron, etc. it is almost always junk!!! pinpoint it figure how deep and circle the target reason being you might get a solid signal then step to the side and get iron signal throw in the mix usually that means nail !! i don't get those false signals here so if the place isn't trashy it's cranked up and full swings just go slow and use all those bells and whistles to determine what to dig before long you'll know what your diggin before you dig it!!! pull tabs with tails come up as pulltab but may dance between pulltab penny dime but the little square ones come up as solid nickel signal, foil is always foil, iron is always iron, some Penny's may show as dime this i don't know why!!! hope some of this helps and good luck!!! ;D

I'm sold on the bullseye 11 from whites. I bought one over a year ago, and it went bad on me. I called the service department at whites, and they told me to send it to them, and they would replace free of charge. Out of warranty. I just yesterday recieved my new one in the mail. It did'nt take but just a few days. This is the kind of service I like. A+ for Whites.

From what I've heard, the Bullseye is a *great* pinpointer... but there's so many people on here that have had to have theirs replaced, sometimes 5 or 6 of them, that it seems redundant to get one (I was thinking about a cheap backup)

I used the White's Bullseye II Pinpointer for about 6 hunts now and the switch just went bad. I do like the unit, but obviously reliability is an issue. I contacted White's today about a replacement and they said to send it back, they'll replace it(it's only a month old). They also said they have a "new" batch, with supposedly better internals...we'll see.

Hey, if you notice a difference in the "new batch" when you get your replacement... let me know!! I was really thinking upon a Bullseye II for a backup, so if they fix them, I might pick one up soon.

Sorry to say this but that has been White's line for the last 6 months.

I do hope they get the issue addressed because I do like the pinpointers, but not until they put a better switch in. I put a better one in one of mine and it works a lot better. Just a quick solder job and a little mod to the case with a dremel.

I bought the vibra-probe 570 and will not hunt without it. i love it. it talks to my BH202 if they are too close together, but the thing saves me alot of diggin.

I suggest the Vibra Probe, however, my just died after a year of use. No worries they are replacing it. It is very durable and can be used as a weapon(just kidding).
Get ready for that thing to go off in your car all day if it's not stored point down.
I have to use my Bullseye II, I really hate the switch and weak case(i'm on my second one).

Go VP

I disconnect the battery when it is not in use. Simple procedure. Beats having it fall over in the trunk and start buzzing away. LOL Or inside the car with you. :o

I ended up doing the same thing after it first went off in my truck while I was driving to a site. I leave the battery in the compartment though...

I bought a few but my best is the Uniprobe / headphone combo.
It will go down 5 to 6 inches with ease.
It's a pit pricey at $315.00 but worth it to me.
