These are my favorite 2011 finds. I broke my shoulder January 2011 and the 6 months of recovery severely restricted the first half of the year, however the summer produced a few nice finds. The period brass knuckles from a Cavalry privy were unexpected to say the least. Anyway, here are a few pics representing last years digging adventures. Thanks for looking.

metalev4, AWSOME finds, especially the Knuckles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless Chris

Awesome finds! What year is your 3 center? Thanks for sharing.

Those are some great relic finds. The cross saber hat pin and brass knuckles are awesome.

Evan - considering you're now in an area where relics are hard to come by I'd say you did quite well. Some nice quality pieces you have there. Hopefully this time next year you can have some great Virginia colonial finds to include in your end-of-year post. Looking forward to you coming out in March.

3 Cent piece is an 1851. Thanks for all the comments, I wish I could dig everyday.

Evan,great finds-love the knuckles.
I have the identical peice in your picture (circled). I had always chalked it up to being a furniture/dresser pull.
Most all of your items look military. Do you know if it is something different or do you think same.
thanks.

Pretty sure its a drawer pull. Dug it in Virginia on the top of a hill (small skirmish site) the only other things found were fired 58 minies. Based on the location it should have been military, but all who viewed it thought furniture related.

Were there any markings on those brass knuckles or do they look like they were homemade?

Knuckles are cast brass with no makers mark that I could find. Very well made by a professional.
