Best Slug I ever found.

Today I went back to the Ball field, where I found the Gold piece a few years ago.

One of my first finds, was a Slug, felt like aluminum, so I threw
it in my coin apron and moved on.
a little later I found a Clad Quarter, no Biggie.
My Hunting Buddy for the day decide it was time for a Smoke Break,
so we sat down in the field.
While talking about the Trash I found, I reached in and pulled
a handfull out and he looked in and Grabbed what I thought was the clad Quarter. Next thing he says WOW ! You Found this here ? ! ? !
I look at him puzzled. and say What ? it's just a Quarter.
He didn't have the Quarter, he had the "Slug" when he turned it over,
it was an Obvious 1892 Liberty Nickel, with the rim & the Reverse "Ground" ? off.
I guess the Moral of the story, Check those slugs

It was in the same area I found a Seated Dime Love Token a couple years ago, so there is a possibility that it was dropped by the same person.

Not a Big take today for 2 hours time,

Neat find. When I first started detecting, I found what looked like a cruddy ol' slug so, I just tossed it. Wonder what THAT was.

That's why I dismissed it as an Aluminum Slug, when I glanced at the Bare side first Time I ever pulled one out that clean also.
I wonder if the Smooth Surfaces had anything to do with it ?
