Better Brand Headphones _ Limiter Switches_ Help Plz

Question:
Was considering getting a better pair of headphones for detecting.
Do the one's with the limiter switches really help all that much or is it just hype?
I don't want to spend all the extra cash if they really do not help much.
What is the consensus?

I had a pair of Killer Bee's that were nice but got stolen. After that I just made sure they fit nice and didn't care about all the hype of "better listening details". I own a pair of Treasure Ears now $35.
