I actually found these on saturday but wasn't able to post 'til now. I think I read on Treasurenet recently about checking High School football fields starting at the fifty yard line. So I drove up to the High School I graduated from, parked, walked up to the field and said Hummmm....this looks close enough. I started in, got about ten feet and dug up the ring. It's a cheapie, but it's still a ring. The next find was about ten feet away. A pretty worn 1864 IH. My next good find wouldn't come until I was across the field, when out pops the little sterling heart, now I'm thinking coool, it doesn't look like anybody has really checked this out good. Back across two more times got me my last good dig of the day, the cross with Jesus' thorn crowned head on it, also marked sterling. These were just the better finds. Not shown was a 1953 wheatie, a 1942 Canadian penny and just over $5.00 in clad. So to who ever posted about starting on the fifty yard line..... THANKS!!!
Good call!
