Some woman tells me I don't think they want you doing that here. They jusy blew the whistle at you. Really?

Yeah he doesn't want you doin that here.

I gave the woman a wide berth, some people just want to tell you what you can't do. Maybe she lost something there :icon_pirat:

Anyway I felt like telling here off but thought the better and said if they want me to stop they will tell me. I know it was bull because I passed three lifeguards, a lifeguard vessel, and have gone here before no problem.

I just moved on.

I'd show her the fish hooks I recovered and keep in my pouch as show and tell. Then say well at least I found these few before I had to go, sure hope there isn't more and move off

get to know your lifeguards .. they know where all the good loot is lost . ANd they could save your life.

Yes it pays to grease the wheels with the lifeguards. I gave them my business cards and told them to hand them out to people reporting losing something, but to write their name on the back of the card. Any reward I would split with the lifeguard if his name was on the card. This is a small amount to spend, but pays big dividends. I've even snuck them out a cold beer.

I love the " Fish hooks " kept in the pouch thing!! I usually show beer caps and say," glad your kids won't step on these" cause with sandy , water soaked feet, they can cut you bad. shaka Mikey :thumbsup:

I paid for the same badge as everybody else. If they told me to leave I was going to tell them they are gonna have to carry me out and I don't think they looked like the type to want to work up a sweat.

Dirt it crossed my mind that it was her hubby's spot or worse yet she forgot to bring her machine and couldn't stand it watching somebody else.
Honestly, I think she was afraid for the toddler that I would smack her with the scoop or something. She was in a tidal pool and I didn't get within 10 feet of her. The funny part is the little brats can run your machine and your coil over at top speed and they are not reprimanded. But don't get near anybody with a detector even by accident, you will here about it.

I had a lady try to run me out of a park back around Christmas when I was relic hunting. She told me I was breaking the law. I gave her a good dose of my Southern Charm and asked her if she was always so unhappy that she had to mess with other people. She walked away. I saw again that afternoon and spoke nicely to her. She just kept walking.

Some folks are really sad.

I had a friend once that would yell this out when someone walked up to him and started messing with him.

MERMALIN SMERNIN MERNICH!

They would say "What?"

He would repeat it.

They would walk off shrugging there shoulders.

Didn't mean anything. He just had them thinking he spoke some foreign language they didn't understand. Worked every time for him. Think I might try that one day.

Can you believe I spell checked Mermalin Smernin Mernich and it passed. I guess it is because I made it a larger font. Scary!

I once found a used syringe still with sharp in the dry sand while luckily using a small plastic scoop....I suppose she would rather have stood on that? Man I hate those people...

new metal detecting shirt design red circle slash --- no busybodies -- under it ----yes I find stuff --- rusty hooks sharp metal and dangerous things like that -- once i a while I find intereting stuff---- no its not your stuff -- cuz if I find it its now my stuff . have a nice day -- please do not disturb me while I do my hobby --thank you

Seriously I should carry some nasty sharp thing and if approached say would you like to step on something like this? That wouldn't be fake because there's lots of very bad stuff at the average beach.

I hunt this one campground pond. I have been going to for about 15 years. When I 1st. started,I had to pay to get in,everyone who saw me gave me a hard time ,from the guy cutting grass to the guy cooking burgers at the snarkebar. Then one day the owner told me a girl had to be rushed to the hospital the day before. Seems she got a horriable cut on her foot by the ropes. He asked me to try and find what cut her. The water by the rope line is kinda deep and you can,t see the bottem. I got a good hit and came up with the top of a broken beer bottle. then I blind scooped around and got the bottom half of the bottle. It was real nasty. I gave it to the owner. Now years have gone by and I detect for free and no one bothers me. :thumbsup:

Found a stainless steel steak knife with the plastic handle broken off at the beach. It was bent in an L shape. That actually scared me, I couldn't get the vision of this thing stuck through someones foot.
