Sometimes, depends on the area. I've been in water spots that are almost devoid of signals and some I've been in were loaded to the gills with tabs and coins. Tabs keep the un-motivated from digging alot and it makes for some interesting hunting. I want to get in the water before the real swimming season starts and clean the area up so it will be more productive. Any spot in the water can produce rings, 3 inches of water or chest deep both can produce rings. With the BHID I could actually avoid the "coin" signals(blue led) and just dig the mid range(ring-yellow led) signals but I'm always afraid of missing a scoop clanger so they all get dug. Makes for slow going sometimes- dam,m zinc pennys!!!

Now that's a great find! GOLD! WTG on the ring. I put my dfx in the water once, gave it a try.
Found it to be a pain in the tokus! I did not have a good scoop, and the dang coil wants to float. Gotta hand it to you water fishin guys and gals. FFD

Nice job on the gold ring!

Awesome! I can't wait to get in the water also! Won't be long for my first gold of the year! :)
