Big Box o' Foreign Money
So I was recently given this big box full of foreign currency by my girlfriend's mother. She didn't have much use for it and she knew that I like old coins and stuff, so she gave it to me. She said her aunt was fairly wealthy and liked to travel A LOT back in the day, so a fair bit of this was acquired during those travels. The rest of it came from the Littleton Coin Co I would assume. The box is a mix of coinage and paper money, with most dates being from the 1930s to the late 1950s. I've included some pictures, and I will eventually get around to cataloging all of it in detail, eventually. Some bills and coins are very good to uncirculated condition, while others are very beat up, barely legible, and pretty much worthless. I really like the artwork on some of these, and it reminds me just how bleh our currency is today.
I'm pretty unfamiliar with non-U.S. currency, though. Is there anything that I should be on the look out for, as far as rarity or value? Any pointers for researching?
