Still looking but it does bear resemblance to a Victorian or French gate or shop key.

Well, best I could do image wise. The only reason I felt it was Victorian was when I was searching my skeleton keys and recall seeing similar to yours. Seems the problem with ID is that a lot were not marked so the history of the key is more or less lost. Sorry, all I got for you ATM.

Jail key? Probably not.
