Still looking but it does bear resemblance to a Victorian or French gate or shop key. :icon_scratch:

Large entry door key. Probably late 18th c. to early 19th c.

Jail key? Probably not.

Many of the old homes in my area, including my own, have similar keys for the large lock on the front door.

Worked in a jail for a while, and it ain't a jail key. They are cut from flat brass stock and much longer and heavier. Monty
