Big Lead? ?

Hit an old lot today where I found a 1913 Buffalo Nickel last weekend and obviously got a pretty strong signal. About 5 inches down, I pulled out this huge bulb of lead. I have no idea what this thing could have been, but it was fun to find and intriguing nontheless...... :read2:

That's different!

Bet it's worth it's weight in lead, though! ::)

my dad used to make lead soldiers in his younger years, it might be a homemade ingot used for this.

Thanks for the reply guys! I was hoping someone might know what this thing might have been used for?

It seems to be shaped to be held conveniently in the hand. as you are pictured holding it You have the larger end down and in the other picture (bottom?) shows signs of being battered. So I wonder if it might have been some sort of personal hand tool, a crude hammer or grain masher?
