not sure on value, but dam - nice coin!

Outstanding!! I want to find one.. :glasses11::coffee2:

I think that's the first seated dollar I've ever seen posted. man, what a find!

What a thrilling find! I would love hear more about how you came about finding it?

Congrats! on a nice nice coin wow

We were searching an old home place that turned into a hunting club that I just got permission to hunt last week, first time there but won't be the last although lots of cans there and they almost always sound like dollar coins so lots of digging in the future.

AWESOME FIND ! :occasion14:

Congrats on the find and I for one, hope that it is real! The overall color of the coin, the Copper looking color around the edge of the rims as well as inter-mingled on some of the details/images and although the coin shows very little signs of wear, the lack of details on Miss Liberty's gown and the Shield, leads me to believe that it may be an older Counterfeit. You should weigh the coin and compare it to the normal weight of a Seated Liberty Silver Dollar, do the ring test, examine the areas mentioned for Copper underneath a Silver plating job and if still uncertain, take the coin to a knowledgeable and respected Coin Dealer to have it checked.

now that i've looked at the large pics i definitely see what you mean. well, that would be a bummer if it doesn't check out.

I'm looking for a good coin dealer in my area now. I did notice the color you mentioned and will weigh it to see.

Bummer it only weighs 22.03 g and looked though my loop and it looks like silver plate wearing off

Wow that must have about blew Your ear drums out ? I found a Barber Quarter today that almost did it to Me... Thats Cool , I am still hunting for a Silver half and up ,so far just dimes and quarters for Me... Happy Hunting:skullflag:

I think it's still a cool find but now wonder the value of a fake one. lemon aid out of lemons LOL

i wonder on the rarity of counterfeits. i know sometimes they are more valuable.
