Just found this tonight! It's a 30 gram 1958 93.5% pure silver commemorative Israel coin! Very thick coin!
Saw a huge dumpster full of stuff from a house clean-out! Grabbed 5-6 bags and a few boxes, drove home and went through just ONE of the bags - found a small black coin purse, felt one coin inside - prayed to the treasure gods for a second - and then opened the purse! In shock for several seconds! Just did a little research on it for you all.

Here is the coin and the purse I found it in. Note the coin impression still in the bag's side:

As if digging through the contents of a house is dirtier than digging in dirt lol :laughing7:. I'm glad that garbage bags have such a negative stigma to them - more treasure for me to find! :tongue3:

Great pickings, that thing is a HONKER! Very cool looking. Reminds me of the evil animal that took over in that old movie "Ghost Busters"

A very nice find. Just makes you think who was the person that kept this medal in his purse...
Btw, the medal is actually from 1959, although it was coined in honor of 10 years Israeli victory in 1948 War of Independence.
