The sun was out, but we had a breeze so still a bit chilly. I wanted to go revisit a spot that was farther away, but my wife insisted I stay closer and go to an old standby. Glad I listened!

Picked up a few Wheats, one Merc, and then finally got a tone that I thought would be another Wheat, maybe a dime. Flipped the dirt, tried the probe, and got a tone along the side. I removed a side slice, and saw a big silver rim sandwhiched in the dirt clump. I thought "no way!" I knew it was a half, so was already in shock, but when I broke open the dirt clump, I just about lost it when I realized it was a Barber. Packed it in cotton to bring it home.

What a great feeling. Love this hobby!

Wow, Congratulations on that beautiful Barber half! The Merc ain't bad either. I found a Barber half earlier this year, my first!

Congrats on the big silver.

Seems like there have been a lot of halves found lately. Needless to say, none by me !!!

You had a great day !!!

Nice finds. Love those big silvers. I use to live in New Ulm MN so I feel your pain of the hunting season coming to an end. In OK now so Ive got some more time to get out and hunt before the snow comes.

That is an awesome Barber half. Way to go!!!

Very nice silver. That coin has eluded me 11 years now, hopefully soon I'll capture one.

You gotta love that Barber series. Out of all the coins I find those are my faves. Found a crappy looking one (dime) today and keep looking at it.

Great finds there congrats.

That is one heck of a coin! And just think you were going somewhere else :tongue3: congrats!!
