I usually don't post my finds but today was three firsts for me all in the same find. I have been scoping out a recently demolished house that dated to the early 1900s. Unfortunately, after knocking the house down and tearing up the asphalt they leveled the whole area with a bulldozer, possibly burying most of the good stuff. I had gained permission to hunt the site a month ago but the owner asked that I waited until the seeded grass grew some so that it wasn't a mud pit. I checked the site out last week and it looked very green and ready to go, so I waited until we got some today rain to soften up the ground some.
One of my first finds was right on the surface below the grass. My AT Pro was screaming a solid 92 signal. Expecting it to be a smashed can or other debris I poked around at the ground and found a large black crusty coin. I patiently waited until I got home hours later to start rinsing it off. I could see a few small hints of silver and a reeded edge so I knew I had a dollar. Soaking it in lemon juice slowly dissolved the black crust revealing an 1887 Morgan dollar. My oldest coin to date, my first coin from the 1800s, and my first silver dollar!! And yes, I bought some lotto tickets tonight, just felt like that kind of a day

Other finds included some memorial cents, a clad dime, a 1931 wheat penny, an old toy car, and small heart necklace piece.

And the junk.... There was not nearly as much as I expected. Either someone else has hunted the site and just missed the dollar coin, or everything was buried like I expect.

I plan on returning a few more times to this property to discriminate out less and less each time to get rid of most targets, then throw the 5x8 coil on to maybe see past the nails and other iron.
