BIGFOOT? I knew you were real. what state do you really live in?

yo jeff
We,the proud yeti clan never tell specifics about location. We hide for a reason. Will tell ya I really do live in high forest. Will also encourage all campers to take all of their tech goodies camping. We need that stuff and they always blame it on eachother or bears.love it.

bigfoot 1,
Welcome to Tnet and the rest of us crazies, speaking for myself of course. I started coin shooting some time back and then, sometime back, I became more interested in prospecting and backpacking and going on two week long campouts and so the coin shooting kinda has fallen down.

What machine do you use with what coils? Have many exciting stories to share? Pictures, I love pictures!!

And still crazy after all these years.....................63bkpkr

Hello and welcome aboard Pat!

Thank you all for the welcome
63 bkpr....got one for ya.This winter I headed down to the high desert(mojave)to avoid the cold.I focus on old and abandoned homesites.Dam.I found one.My hunting partner and I call it the button grounds......there are litterlt thousands of em everywhere. We used our machines the best we could but they were overwhelmed. We have high end stuff too.So we built a screen deal and went to work.Off the charts. The guy was making domed buttons out of silver(1930s)coins,even attaching shanks. We scored.Over fifty foriegn,43 buffs, dozens of silvers, untold amounts of mostly costume jewelry. Then it happened....we have noted several cruciables and several large slag pieces that were silver. This 13 oz sample is a mystery.Hard as can be(file dulled)bright silver white.Brittle at ambient temp.Fizzes under hydrogen peroxide.I'm thinkin rhodium.I have just sent a gram sample to be tested.....we cant hardly sleep...

so that my current story....a good one...will prolly never top the button grounds.....over 20 oz silver so far screening but slowing down.Only one 12 kt gold little ring...and I mean little....like infants.Wierd place tho...now that we screened in we gonna go try to detect it.will let ya know.

Gotta lub huntin

bf1pat,
Wow, that is one awesome adventure you've shared and it happened as the two of you never gave up! Same sort of experience with the pictures I posted, I never gave up regardless of how hard the work, the hike in or out I just keep at it. Thank you so much for sharing the adventure. When you have time or feel like it a picture of the pile of items you've pulled would be Fun to see. I can certainly appreciative the the idea of special buttons as I like buttons so it is a fun thought to envision some person, guy or gal, having found a way to "add value" to their life by producing a eclectic button product. Way Cool!...............63bkpkr
