I hit some parks and one school today. End of school day is today so I will be hitting those campuses hard this summer, yay!
While skirting the inner and outer edges of an old, paved running track at the school, I got a solid 81 VDI (clad dime) hit on the ATPro. I dug two inches to find what I thought at first was a large bird band. Closer inspection revealed it to be a very small ( size 2-3?) .925 child's ring, decorated with "hang ten" feet! About 75 feet down the line, I found an old monogrammed "L" child's ring, once plated but now all worn away.
I also found a silver plated ribbon pendant, and a plated "I love sports" pendant.
The other interesting (for me) find was a very pristine 1942 British Sixpence coin. I learned it is 50% silver, and that is why it came out of the ground shiny and clean. It was in a newer park near a pavilion. I understand the Brits believe that if a bride places a sixpence in her shoe during the wedding, it will bring her good luck and prosperity. Maybe there was a wedding party at the park in the past?
Thanks for looking, happy hunting to all of my TNet friends! Sub
