Hey gang,

Guess what? I finally got a chance to actually metal detect today!

We (my son and I) went to the town soccer field for a couple of hours. There is no activity at this field this time of year, so we had it all to ourselves.

Besides the usual clad, pulltabs and canslaw, I came up with a really neat little silver ring. It's marked STER J A and it measured a small size 3 on my mandrel.

Oh, by the way, this field is hunted by other detectorists, but they left this one for me. ;D

UPDATE: I did a google search on the hallmark and it turns out to be a James Avery ring! WOW!
New pic added.

That's a really sweet little ring you found there! and what would be really cool is to email the maker if he is still around and give him the link to this post, it would be cool to have him post about it!
