Back out in the fields today, weather is being kind and keeping the rain to the hours of darkness for us! Went to our favourite fields, just outside the village. Himself disappeared off in search of his Romans, I stayed on the pottery … and once again I was rewarded 😆 xx

But first tack mounts … then I think this next one is a seal… has a prong on the back, can defo see writing on it then a tobacco tin lid, couple of buckles, corset eye, tiny bullet, buttons, chonky lead weight, pre dec worn coin and a token, 1921 penny, 1865 half penny, and a beautiful Queen Elizabeth 1st 1566 hammered xx

Hopefully another day in the fields tomoz! Xx

Another great day! Jealous again...

Congratulations on the Lizzy Hammered.
Now is that a seal, or a saw nut?
You're doing well on the silvers.

Here's the plan.
You have a useful weight.
Put it above the door, with a string going down to the knob.
Now when Himself opens the...STOP!
You just saved him from getting bonked on the head.
He'll be in your debt for a fortnight.
Your welcome 😁

I think the secret to your success is letting himself wander off...the same thing happens when I wander off in a thrift store...and let my wife find things.....I must say you have some choice recoveries...the fields there look daunting...so vast...no wonder gridding is the only way to detect...I'm enjoying your lock with the face...the hammered is in remarkable shape...
