Got out early this morning. Found a couple of colonial flat buttons and a couple round balls. Then got a call from a client and had to go. I ended up finding this very old road with a beautiful stonewall that runs along the edge. Decided to leave the machine on as I speed walked out. Sure enough a solid 88 signal at 6". Out comes a large copper. Then 3 more within a 3' square area. Had to go after that. Got em home and they are all destroyed. Wish it had been a silver spill. I hate to complain about 4 old coppers but I hate not being able to know what I have. I could make out one, an 1839 LC. I will def be revisiting this spot

That's it I unfriend you both. And I'm taking you off my wall

I was going to give you a good ribbing about your ugly hunt, but still won over what I endured yesterday for weather and finds. I should post up my disk...

Neat, too bad on the quality, but there still might be some silver on that site.

Yeah, it could have been a much worse hunt Abe. You could have ran into a horny bull moose, or a huge angry swarm of killer bees AND found nothing. At least now you have a reason to go back and slowly find nothing, lol.

I plan on finding some silver coins tomorrow. That's my plan and I'm gonna do everything I can to make it happen lol. But the ground is frozen so I can only hunt next to the ocean. So that's where I head back to. I won't be stopped!!!!!!!!

I feel your pain. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have found it at all, instead of finding it, and waiting to clean it until you get home. All the time having the excitement and anticipation of what it could be...only to clean it and have it be a smooth, or demolished ex-coin. Such a huge let down. On paper it sounds good I guess!

Quick hunt that gives up four crispy large cents indicate better relics and early US coins still hiding .

HH in 2015 ! 8-) Ahab

Yup only way to look at it is that there was a somebody there losing coins in the early 1800s. Never a bad sign. And if they were silvers I'd be one happy fella right now. Maybe tomorrow :-)

That's just a beginning point Abe, sounds like you are hot on the trail of some Silvers there! My biggest copper spill involved 7 wheaties, then there was the 46 coin spill of all modern quarters, dimes, nickels, memorials and zincolns...... Here's hoping there is more than 4 LCs in your next hole....Lol

How the hell did you get a picture of Vino? Lol

Is that really Vino? Cause Tom and I want to be sure we follow the right person to their secret secret spot and not some random guy going grocery shopping.

when i was younger - guys would just hammer the cellarholes - cant tell you how many times i hit cleaned out cellarholes
got nothing but did good in the roads to and from them - cause guys back then ignored them
i love a nice pre 1800 dirt road

4 measly coppers, you should just quit detecting now........lmao jk buddy, nice digs!

That's a nice start to the year Abe. Looks like you might have a variety of coppers based on that pic, maybe 3 different types. But do not despair - the silver is coming. Don't forget that I predicted that for you last fall, so let's hope lightning strikes twice. So get back out there before the big freeze comes. We're even supposed to get it down this way too with temps in the teens.

would love very much to have your problem...just once would be nice

Maybe trashed coppers but they still count ! And at least you're out digging !

*D*
