Reminds me of a Navy Pea Coat button. Google up vintage navy pea coat buttons and you'll see what i mean.
If it is, it is certainly an old variety.

Of course I 'Googled' the description 'Black Glass Anchor Button' & 'Antique Glass Navy Button' before I posted this piece, but found nothing similar online.
I was just hoping that there would be someone here that knows exactly what this button is... either military or civilian? :icon_scratch:
