Blank Dime?

Hi guys!

Found this site on Wednesday and had the wife furious by Saturday! I bought $100 in dimes and ended up with all 2012d dimes. I noticed a blank dime in the mix. What is this oddity worth? Are these blanks very common?

not common. not sure what its worth. I found 4 cents that are completely blank and one cent blank on just one side. never anything else.

Nice.. You have there a blank Dime Planchet. The value depends on what someone will pay. It's probably genuine being in a sold roll of 2012's.

Cool find! I have some cent planchets and came across some quarter blanks many years ago.

Red Book puts yours at $2.50.

Blank Planchets aren't terribly common (haven't found one in the wild myself) and sell for around $5 or so on eBay. Not going to make you a millionaire or anything but worth much more than 10 cents.

Thanks for responses. The wife is mad because I have a tub of $800 in mixed change. She thinks I'm crazy. I live in Austin and Ive identified three dump banks. Each are credit unions where we have loans for our home, car, and solar system. Im new so Im trying to make sure I fly under the radar when I return coins. I ordered my first half box and it comes in on Thursday. Super excited! (Mrs. Catcake not so much)
