I'll ask again how are you not on timeout?

I don't think that I violated any rules. If I did, I'll accept my punishment and go back to lurking...

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

I read the rules again, pretty sure you are atleast in some grey areas. Questioning in the open forum authenticity of artifacts, there was name calling and chastising and most likely caused a member posting quality artifacts to leave this forum. Signing kindest regards to posts doesn't exonerate you in my book. Ever hear someone say "no offense"? Usually what preceded that was offensive but then try to get off the hook with that statement. Then again just my opinion.

I made the thread, it is not a personal find, questioning authenticity rule only applies to member's finds posted.

You’re right. I was being a bit harsh and if you’ll note, I left the “Kindest regards” off some of my posts when I was irked. I apologized to Sunny. I didn’t run him off though and said in my last post in the Mississippian pipe thread that some people would be happy if he stuck around. If you recall, Sunny suggested that he might leave in one of his earlier posts titled “My Posts.” It’s water under the bridge as far as I’m concerned. I’d say that he probably owes dognose an apology though.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

Nobody ran Sunny off, he earned time out by violating our rules repeatedly.

Treasure_Hunter is correct as usual. I knew that all along. And BTW and on another topic, it is not all that uncommon to find new stuff strewn around or "planted" while we are out looking for the real thing, and busting our rears in the process.

Once at a battlefield, I saw some lady dropping what looked like white colored minie balls. Like why? Getting rid of the ex's collection?

I found a fake Netherlands Daadler on Coin Beach, Delaware a few years ago. I have posted on it before. It's made of pewter, not silver.

I was a member of a club once. (This was 30 years ago.) One guy had been practicing with his own home made atl-atl and lost the bannerstone. A year or so later (it was a plowed field), another member of the club found it! Of course he thought it was the real deal and when the maker said it wasn't he still didn't believe it. I never saw that artifact, and don't know what the end outcome was.

At one DIV someone "planted" a US buckle that was brand new! It happens. (I'm still annoyed by the Daadler.) It really had me going.

So...when you see a random news article or facebook post from someone who is NOT a member here, believe what you will. When Walter Cronkite did the news, you could believe it...

I suppose unless you're out to purchase it, it really doesn't matter. I'll never own anything like it.
