I'll try to get some better pics this weekend. I think my image stabilization is blurring the photos as I track the planes with my camera. I'm gonna turn it off and see if I get better results.
As I suspected, my camera's image stabilization feature caused a lot of blurring of the photos I took yesterday. I think I snapped about 200 pics today during their 30 minute performance. Thank God for the shutter burst feature. I need to crop some of the better photos and I will post them tomorrow, but here is a preview of what to expect.
I am envious of those pics. I missed my one chance at a shot like that this year when we had a flyover on the 4th of July. I knew it was comin, but those boys came in so fast, and so low, and so quick that most of us old farts hit the ground.
Thanks for all the nice comments. I took over 400 photos and you are seeing the the best of the best. I still have a hundred or so on my camera I have not yet downloaded. Yesterday I got some pictures of Fat Albert, the C-130T Hercules support aircraft for the Blue Angels. It is pretty agile in its own right given the size of it. I'll post them when I get some time.
One of the other jets, not the Blue Angels, but maybe an F-16 or something broke the speed limit earlier today. Massive sonic boom with that characteristic double boom sound. I think it happened over the bay but I could hear it over here.
