Yes it is an interesting variegated hunk of Granite but other than a yard decoration not much else, but don't give up you never knows what may be found out in the field until one stumbles onto it....

I'm afraid one would have to see it in person to tell more. See if you can't bring it to a local university or even a rock club and let someone knowledgeable look at it.
