Some sort of medicinal cream, probably from 1890-1920.

Not much info here to give, but i do have a few jars of my own that are quite similar and may be related...........


One of them is marked "Pond's" on the bottom, and was an old make-up remover cream. Another is marked "Woodbury" but I am not sure what they made. All my jars have screw tops, so they are most likley from the same time as yours. Hopes this helps in some way. Cool find, HH

The company was started in Moffat's Creek VA in 1871 by Dr S P Hite.
Hite had previously been with Teter (see DR H TETER'S ALL HEALING LINIMENT BY TETER & HITE).
He initially operated as a travelling medicine peddler.
Hite began serious manufacturing in Staunton VA where he operated for some time. He eventually moved to Roanoke VA.
Hite incorporated and the company went public in Roanoke VA in 1905. $50,000 in stock was purchased by local businessmen.
Around 1908 the company started to branch off into flavoring extracts and toiletry products.
