Hello All,

Started out with the goal of detecting but the opportunity to dig some bottles arose so I decided to double down on that! Best not to ignore treasure to try to find different treasure, I always say!

Please enjoy the video and photos.

Dang!
I was happy with the second bead for the whole hunt already.
Clay centers can reflect the wire /mandrel being coated so that the glass doesn't stick to it.
Sand is glass, sort of enough that clay was used for good , if not scientific logic.

Busy site. And yes ; breaks on for any bottles when they're corkers!

The crop shown is far away from up here.
Sorghum? Egyptian wheat? Cane? A skinny mystery corn?
Heck it almost looks like young Miscanthus I've planted for deer screening..
(Don't mind my being lost there wondering what's growing. l.o.l..)

Thanks for sharing the site and recoveries.

Ty my friend, I appreciate it!

Ty for the info on coating the mandrel so the beads don’t crack while cooling! The crop is sugarcane. It papercuts one’s face hands arms legs. And then the sweat of course makes that feel just great. Not for the faint of heart in 108 heat indexes. It’s borderline not fun 😂

Seeing stalks from last year(?) I thought cane debris was burned after.
Welcome to Michigan! L.o.l..

Ya. I've been in leaves that papercut.
First time it was bad as a kid at a corn roast running adjacent swamp in shorts alone and barefoot as all summer.. Dad rubbed butter on the cuts.
Loved my Dad. But damn. That wasn't really helpful.
It was sawgrass. And since then the first good cut by anything means quit getting cut. Or try to. Like being thorned, it usually happens gain before it's over.
By dressing accordingly usually. Berry picking kind of garb. (Proper steel suits of armor being too expensive.)

So now I see some young cane.
Thanks!

Lets see if I can find a miscanthus pic. on my property.
Ahh. It might need two to show the old stems/canes . Kinda look like skinny bamboo.
