After fooling around with this pinpointer, I can now get it to hit a nickel at 1 inch. I cut a piece of thin rubber into a washer and slipped it over the metal sensitivity knob. The plastic knob pushing down against the rubber washer gives a little more friction and makes it turn a little harder and seems to make for more precise adjustments and keeps the sensitivity when the knob gets touched. I know it's not up to the quality of the Garrett's or Xpointers, but for 22 bucks I'm happy for now.
