My sister want to get into metal detecting and saw the bounty hunter teexas pilot metal detector.
Can you fellow metal detectorist tell is this good metal detector for her?

If she starts with that thing she may not gain interest. Start her out with a new Whites Coinmaster, Fisher F2 or Garrett Ace 250.
Bounty Hunters are ok but you need a better model of one.

I have to agree, the quicksilver is a better machine.

Regardless of the claims that this is a midlevel machine the lack of a headphone jack is indicative of a entry level detector.

It's no secret that I am a Bounty Hunter fan but unless this detector is for a child I would pass on it and go with the Quicksilver or SharpShooter II. Both are reasonably priced and can be had even cheeper
on fleabay.
