Box #3 from my January "Dive"-Vintage Albums

Opened up the third box from last month's colossal dumpster dive and found 40 old vinyl LPs. Three are worth some actual cash-$15-$45 each. The rest might only net $1 or $2 apiece, but that still makes this a $100 box. Total for the three boxes I've opened so far=$1300+

Re: Box #3 from my January "Dive"-Vintage Albums

Week before Christmas our local Goodwill had a big box of 33 1/3 albumns. I picked up a bunch at .49. My wife got me an outfit that I can play them on and record over to my pc. :icon_thumright: I've been having a ball playing and recording them. She got the machine from Pennys for $99; it doesn't do cassetes, just vynil.

My wife's got one of those too, but hasn't gotten around to using it yet, lol

Where do you sell them for that kind of money ? The wife & I go to alot of estate auctions and very often there will be large lots of albums that sell for pennies. I always pass them by due to not having any way to play them.

Great score! (That could be interpreted as a pun on My Fair Lady)
Plus young Harry Belafonte!

I've started peeking in dumpsters but haven't had the courage to jump in by myself. Oh well.

Remember that Tnet won't resize your pictures, it takes extra effort to resize and rotate your pics to get a good post here. There is a faq somewhere, but I use 700 pixels wide as reasonable size so people can look at the whole picture instead of a thin strip of it.

Thx for the tip!

Vinyl is making a HUGE comeback among audiophiles, which is boosting the value of rare or classic LPs. As with most of my finds, I research values online as best I can, then if I can't find a specific dealer for whatever I scrounged that day (be it LP's, Books, coins, collectibles), I have two antique stores that will take it for me on consignment, and they place the value and find a buyer.
