Brackettown Cemetery is in McDowell County, North Carolina - is that what you are asking?

I have visited the cemetary and found it quite interesting but does anyone know where the town might be?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no town there today, during the gold rush in NC there was a post office & store on the brackett town road going to the cemetery. There was a lot of activity there in those days. I was just up there this past month and tested a friend's stream and found some color. Vein Mtn,. Recreational Miners Club (VRMC) has some land leased on this road, they can be contacted thru Lucky Strike Gold Mine. Most of the people buried in the cemetery are African Americans with some white people buried mostly out in the woods around the cemetery. Hope this helps. Buckshotnc

I am currently researching the history of Vein Mountain which includes Brackett Town. I have been downloading the historical maps for the area and I have an idea where some of the town was located.

There was no town, just a general store, mill, post office, maybe a mill, etc. during the local gold rush here there were lots of small places called towns & Villes here. There was a Jeanstown, Jamestown, Dealsville, and others. If anyone has been to the cemetery you passed right through what was Brackett Town.
