Brand new in WA (Maple Valley)

Greetings!
I am new to metal detecting and I am looking to learn.

I bought a Garret Ace 250 for starters and I am seeking experienced hunters to help me learn how and where to search. Please message me if you'd like to help a newbie get started. I live in the Maple Valley area and work in South Seattle. I am very mobile and I can provide transport.

Also, I am interested in some beach detecting probably around Ocean Shores or similar. I have not found any laws restricting metal detecting on ocean beaches - other than state parks. Did I miss anything?

Are there any restrictions on metal detecting King County parks?

I am a senior who lives in Auburn. I am looking for someone to go detecting with. I am retired military and have been detecting off and on since the 70's.
I have learned that it is more fun with a partner than alone. I am a non-smoker, non-drinker and available Mon-Thur 10-5 and ocassionally on a weekend.

I have grown tired of digging up pennies in city parks and try to stay away from them because they have been picked clean, except for Lincolns.
