Brass buckle. Can someone help with a time period?

Out getting my exercise (and deer scouting). Was trying to locate a long since gone Boy Scout camp. Only notable finds were this, a horseshoe, and a 3 scrapes.

1-7/8" long by 1-5/8" wide. No markings.

I dare say that looks colonial, or shortly post colonial. Great buckle, you might want to detect there again!
 

YOU CAN FIND INFO JUST PULL UP OLE 1600S OR 1700S BUCKLES , AND THATS A NICE FIND .....

Thanks everyone. Spot is at the top of my list for spring 2016. There's a waterfall with a bridge abutment as well. Numerous targets in the stream.

I agree with J.Cache on this one - early 1800's bat-wing buckle. Nice find!
