Brass piece; part of a rifle maybe?

I found this on Sunday at a cellar hole. The site has a narrow 1850's-1880's date range and this was found along with a harmonica reed, brass thimble, hoe blade, and the usual iron home site bits.

It's thick brass with light tool marks all over it and several of the holes are roughly threaded. It also rang a high 92-96 on the AT Pro. Any ideas?

they found coffee grinders at all the Seminole War camps along with harmonicas and hoes.
