Brass plate marked Illinois

[Prairie Prowler]

I Found this small 4inch x 2inch plate at a house site that dates from the civil war era...It is stamped brass and was originally gilted ..& marked Wilson Bros. on the rear...Not sure if military maybe agriculture related..Has anybody ever seen something like this ?? Thanks

Might have something to do with Wilson Brothers, a haberdashery in Kansas City in the '30's.
