✅ SOLVED Brass unknowns

Could be 1903 era army related or earlier civilian. Found on our farm where anything can turn up. The round brass 'cap' looks kinda familiar. Anyone know what they are?

The round brass cap is a ferrule from a scythe handle.

BigCH you have a good ID there! Is the one in your pic open on the other side, like it could fit on a pipe or something?

It fits on the handles. Some are steel but many are brass. There is only one ferrule per handle but there are 2 handles. Large Antique Scythe 28" Blade x 63" Long Primitive Wooden Handle | eBay

Thanks, I found it about 100' from an early 1800's house.

That tells me they must've had some animals that they fed hay to!
