I don't know what I have, it is brass or bronze. Found on a colonial site. looks to be broken off something. Maybe some of you guys can recognize it

It reminds me of an antler. Perhaps on of those deer lawn ornaments?

looks like a part of a broken brass trigger guard..

It's a broken part of the leg from an antique brass andiron. Similar in style to the one in the photo below:

I'm thinking this is a piece of a brass handle for an old candle holder now...have one exactly like it in my thinking room..(Bathroom)
