🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Any ideas?

Any ideas? Tried a google search and nothing. Son found it in a field where we found quite a few colonial items. It is brass and measures a total of 4 1/2 inches long,the fork section is 2 1/2. I'm thinking maybe off a wagon? We did find reigns guides there and many other colonial items,but I have no clue. SE PA.

I keep looking at this, I swear I've seen something similar to this......But where I can't figure out.

It's hard to say what it's purpose is / was . The wood screw on the bottom is a no brainer but above it has a small stub and that would keep it from screwing into wood at total depth and on the top of piece the side two peices are nothched on both sides like you would if you were going to secure something into that "thing" kinda like a "oar lock" or some device similar ?!

Looks like machine made threads, so, I don't think it's all that old. It might make a good sling shot!

Looks like the part of rear emergency brakes. The forks attach to the cables to each drum brake and the threads go towards the pedal.
