Yesterday, the Mrs. and I returned to where she found the nice drill on Sunday, and we both walked up on this argillite Brewerton Side Notch as soon as we got there. The spot is getting hot again after being very slow the last few years. The quartz point would have been a sweet one; not sure of type because of basal damage, but well knapped for quartz. Also, Fox Creek Lanceolate base, a quartzite Brewerton type, and a small quartz triangle with a perforator tip(?), which we found there on Monday. BTW, New England argillite is argillaceous slate. The grainier argillite from NJ south is argillaceous shale, hence the difference in appearance.
